My son was diagnosed with AD/HD in 1989 and I saw nothing out there for me to understand the challenges that come with it. I just assumed he would outgrow it when he hit adolescence. I joined CHADD in 1998 and it provided me with the education, support and the understanding I needed to help him through the transition points in his life. As I've become more involved with CHADD, becoming a local Chapter coordinator and a teacher for the CHADD Parent to Parent: Family Training on AD/HD program, I continue to grow and evolve in my knowledge base.
