I wish you could have seen Sheema when she was admitted to the hospital. She was severely malnourished from repeated bouts with pneumonia and diarrhea. In just five weeks of treatment and care at Child Health Foundation's partner hospital in Dhaka, Bangladesh, you wouldn't have known her. She was a normal, happy one-year old. This may seem like a very unusual story, but in fact, scenes like this happen every day there. This institution, The Centre for Health and Population Research, is known worldwide for its development of solutions to major health and population problems facing the world. In fact, in 2001, they were awarded the first ever Gates Award for Global Health for their expert work.
